    1200 hectares that will lodge us for the night Dinner is served and free time at the lodge s bar DAY 04 SAN ANDRES ORINOCO PARIA JUNGLE RIVER DELTA This morning we will have time to enjoy the facilities of the farm join the early morning activities and for those who wish a horseback ride is available this activity has an additional charge paid locally Later we initiate our trip to Caño Ajies located at the southern part of the Paria peninsula We will lunch on the way Once at Caño Ajies we board the boats that will ride us through river canals and river delta formation until we reach the island where Orinoco Paria Camp is located With luck we could be able to enjoy the wildlife of these areas At Camp we will settle ourselves get ready for dinner and later a night ride of the river looking for BABAS a small alligator that lives in these waters Later return to camp and overnight DAY 05 ORINOCO PARIA CAMP Breakfast We will plan this day according to the tides We have a trip to the waterfall La Corocora hat includes a 45 minute of jungle walk This are is the habitat of The Scarlet Ibis known as Corocoras the contrast of its color stands out with the green of mangroves We will also have fishing time a walk of the island where the camp is located to the highpoint to have a look of the untouched land In the afternoon just before the sunset we will go to the bird s island At this place thousands of birds return to overnight giving us a spectacular experience Later we return to camp for a cocktail dinner and overnight DAY 06 ORINOCO PARIA CAMP SAN JUAN DE LAS GALDONAS Breakfast Then back to the boats for our return to caño ajies once on the bus we initiate our trip to the thermal waters of Agua Santa the staff will instruct us about the baths and treatments available There will be time available in case some will like to do them but keeping mind that these treatments are optional For the others time for rest and bathing in the natural pools Al lunch is served After the Thermal waters w drive to Hato Rio de Agua a buffalo farm located a beautiful point of the Paria peninsula We will enjoy observing some of the animal life that inhabits this farm and we will enjoy refreshment Later we will continue our journey to the town of San Juan de las Galdonas a small typical fishermen s village on the way we will enjoy the scenery from the mountains of beautiful bays and villages We will overnight at Hotel Las Pioneras where dinner will be served DAY 07 SANTA LUCIA RIVER Breakfast We will board the boats to the town of Santa Isabel traveling among the beautiful coast of Paria Peninsula and enjoying the sightseeing of dream beaches At Santa Lucia we will

    this place we will have the opportunity to take a dip in 30 and degree waters take mud baths and relax at the facilities of the place lunch will be served and following we continue our ride Our next stop is the Buffalo farm of Rio de Agua here we will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscape of this farm and observe some of the wildlife like birds babas small alligators and the Buffalo that found home in this place Later we continue our trip into the mountainside until reaching the fisherman s town of San Juan de las Galdonas We check in at Hotel Las Pioneras dinner and overnight Day Ten After breakfast we will get on the boats that will take for 1 ½ hours boarding the coastline of Paria this beautiful scenery of virgin beaches and landscape 500 hundred years ago convinced Christopher Columbus he had arrived at Paradise We reach the fisherman s village of Santa Isabel and we get ready for our walk up river to the cave Later we return to the town for a typical lunch After a short rest we board the boats for our return on the way we will stop at a beach for sunbathing and swimming and before sunset we are back at San Juan de las Galdonas if luck is on our side during the return we can be escorted by Dolphins that are playfully welcoming our visit Dinner and overnight at hotel Las Pioneras Day Eleven We will have this morning at leisure to enjoy the nearby beaches and the charming town of San Juan de Las Galdonas after lunch we will go by bus to Carupano on the way we will stop at the Cocoa Plantation Hacienda Bukare this farm has been producing organic Cocoa for almost one century and is know for it s Bitter Sweet chocolate We will observe part of the process and have a chance to taste and purchase some of their products We continue and our next stop will be the fisherman s village of Rio Caribe this colorful village was the center of Cocoa commerce of Venezuela almost a century ago it has kept in part the culture as can be seen in parts of the architecture of it s houses Later we will arrive at Carupano check in at Posada la Colina dinner and overnight Day Twelve Breakfast and transfer to airport for our trip to Los Roques we will take flights via Caracas until reaching Gran Roque the main island of this archipelago these island are the main attraction dream beaches and coral reefs multicolor waters a peaceful town and nice friendly people will close our excursion in Venezuela with style The next three days will be spent on this paradise before returning home Words are not enough to describe you must live it Our lodge will give us dinner and breakfast daily plus we will have our lunch served on the daily boat excursions For

    Santo was attacked by pirates and corsarios and forced the inhabitants to escape to the mountains Captain Pedro Gonzalez de Albornoz gathered the dispersed inhabitants and led them to Valle of Santa Lucia nowadays La Asunción This action did not dissolve the Village but divide it into two sections Pueblo de la Mar Porlamar nowadays at the shore and Pueblo Viejo Valle de Espirtu Santo nowadays In 1891 the Island was divided into several counties being Porlamar the capital of the county Mariño The city of Porlamar is considered now the capital of commerce entertainment and social and public life on Margarita Island It is in this city where most of the merchandise imported under Free Port decree is commercialized where most of the inhabitants live and work and where the largest variety of restaurants bars nightclubs discothèques and Bingo Halls are located One of the two casinos of the Island is also in Porlamar Porlamar is the birthplace of many heroes of the independence movement writers and poets and great reporters In this rising city several newspapers have been founded being El Sol de Margarita La Hora el Caribe and El Caribazo the most important ones The symbol of Porlamar is El Faro the light house inaugurated in 1891 The monument La Sirenea the mermaid salutes the visitors at the entrance to the city on the highway form the airport The international airport Santiago Mariño allows easy access for the fast growing affluence of national and international tourists to the island many of them charmed by the island and visit it over and over again The city of Porlamar is a charming mixture of the traditional and the modern with plenty of Colonial buildings and new high rise throbbing with life and excitement This city is and ideal parting

    from Museum Nueva Cadiz located in an Colonial Administrative Building with a shady yard full of Palm Trees It is beautifully restored and exhibits artifacts from Ancient Nueva Cadiz an impressive model of Margarita Island and a permanent art exhibit by modern painters and sculptors It is located just in front of the Plaza Bolivar shaded by ancient trees On this Plaza you will find La iglesia de nuestra Señora de la Asunción one of the oldest churches in Venezuela The construction was initiated in 1570 de Bell Tower was concluded in 1599 and the main ship in 1617 No mayor changes have been made since than At the eastern end of Avenida 5 de Julio there is Casa Muncipal city administration and the legislative palace both located in the same building It was built as a Convent between 1593 and 1617 Since than it has been given many different uses On the road to Porlamar is La Columna de Matasiete reminding of the victory of the Republicans over the Spaniards in 1817 On a hill in the north of the city is Castillo de Santa Rosa This caste dates from the end of the XVII Century when the governor
